Family Services
Parent-Child-Interaction Therapy
(PCIT) helps parents to develop skills to manage disruptive behaviors in young children ages 3-7. PCIT is helpful for conditions like attention deficit and hyperactivity (ADD / ADHD), anxiety, trauma, and oppositional behaviors.
Circle of Security Parenting Education
Circle of Security parenting helps to strengthen the bond between kids and their caretakers. Circle of Security is offered as a 6-week small group where caretakers learn how to assess the underlying needs of their children so they can respond with sensitivity to their child’s development.
Benefits of child-parent therapy:
Children develop better self-esteem and well-being.
Children demonstrate less frequent and intense disruptive behaviors.
Parents improve their stress management and resilience in the domain of parenting.
Families experience less daily conflict and more harmony in the home.
Yoga and Mindfulness
To more fully resolve the effects of daily stress or lifetime pain from trauma, we must learn to exist in the moment, from within our own body.
Yoga and mindful breathing practices are a foundational way to become centered and compassionate within oneself. Finding comfort and safety within body-based experience is an important part of psychotherapy work at Kindheart Center.
